Over the past 50 years St. Mary’s Agathi Mandiram gave shelter to many elderly people who are abandoned by their children and relatives. What we saw there was truly dis-heartening and heart breaking. Why these people are abandoned by their children is still a mystery for all of us. We visited this place and donated them wardrobes, medical equipment and food. Their love in return was truly mesmerizing. We love you mothers! 🙂

This time more than charity we were into one of most crucial aspects of life which is parenting. Dyslexia is a learning disorder found amongst children quite often. Its important that parents are aware of this so that children can be provided with good training that enables them to study just like any other children. Our aim was to help a school that runs exclusively for dyslexic children and aid them with computer systems, spend a day with them along with their parents. Great poet Prof.V Madhusoodanan Nair was there to bless all the children who attended the event. And it was another feather in our crown!

Seeing 150 odd inmates, who aren’t what one can call intellectually able, move about in a place that really cannot occupy one tenth of the population, was really disheartening. But there wasn’t much Br. Albin could do. He has been at war to protect the under-housed. There was no religion, caste, or even gender discrimination. Once in a blue moon does one see a family that has set aside everything else for the society we are all part of. That is Br. Albin to you in a nutshell. We were really fortunate for having gotten this opportunity to spend a day with him, his family, and the people he has been taking care of. We were able to take care of a portion of their needs. The day certainly has inspired us to go forward, further.
