Seeing 150 odd inmates, who aren’t what one can call intellectually able, move about in a place that really cannot occupy one tenth of the population, was really disheartening. But there wasn’t much Br. Albin could do. He has been at war to protect the under-housed. There was no religion, caste, or even gender discrimination. Once in a blue moon does one see a family that has set aside everything else for the society we are all part of. That is Br. Albin to you in a nutshell. We were really fortunate for having gotten this opportunity to spend a day with him, his family, and the people he has been taking care of. We were able to take care of a portion of their needs. The day certainly has inspired us to go forward, further.

7th FKS (Distribution of households and food supplies) at Nanma CharitableTrust, Parambil Bazzar, Calicut on November 17th 2013

A place you should visit atleast once in your life. If you ever wish to help someone, You should help this lady “Sumathiyamma”, an aging mother who look after 24 orphans at her rented house called “Nanma”. We could not do a lot for them, but tried our best. The children at the home took us to an enchanting world with their activities and spirit towards life, truly re-freshening. We hope more people and organizations will come forward to help them.

6th FKS (Distribution of Washing machine) at Louis Braille Memorial School for the Blind, Kudayathoor, Thodupuzha, Idukki on July 14th 2013

Children are so special. Spending your time with them is even so special. A day we spent with children at LBM school
was truly memorable for all of us. Even in their blindness the kind of mental strength they showed was quite amazing, something most of us lack in our daily life. There were more than 50 students in the school. Kerala Federation of Blind, Block panchayath, Janamaithree police representatives were also present in the function where we handed over them a washing machine which was one of their urgent needs as the children were to wash their clothes on their own till then. We gifted them with chocolates, cakes and loads of love. Local authorities also promised they would do whatever they can for the well-being of the children. We don’t think that we did anything great for them financially, but as much as we could. Indeed another day for us to remember.

A day with 18 elderly citizens. Those who were outcasted and abandoned from the family and society for the reasons they were not resposible for. More than 25 members from FKS spent a day with them and met some of their needs. Cots, Food wears, Clothes, Home appliances etc were some of them. Moreover, we had invited the local authorities to inspect current condition of the home and local body of government assured them that they will provide all the aids and grants for the suffering. Definitely another memorable day, another dream fulfilled!
