15th FKS (Distribution of food supplies) @ Dr.B R Ambedkar welfare charitable society, Mathilil, Kollam

A place you should visit once if you are somewhere near Kollam! A place that needs immense help. We talk about parents being abandoned by children. Here are the children who were left alone by their parents!!

We Snehadeepam could give something to this organization and we assure helping hands in the future too. Great love and respect to Radhamani Amma (the lady sitting on the extreme left of the pic) who look after these 16 inmates. If ever there is a list of loving mothers, she is right up there!

14th FKS (Distribution of households) at Sukrutham Koottukudumbam, Edavilangu, Kodungallur on March 1st 2015

thr

It was a gorgeous day for all of us with 45 children at Sukrutham Koottukudumbam. As the name ‘Koottukudumbam’ suggests it was more like a family get together. The good thing we understood was that the students were brought up well and they have everything they need. Students were mostly from poor and tribal families from Attapady etc. They are given good education and they provide children with good training for bringing up their unique skills. We are happy that we could spend a day with them. We met some of their household needs but lighting up Diya with them and playing and dancing with them were ever so special. Thank you Koottukudumbam. We are now part of your family 🙂

Over the past 50 years St. Mary’s Agathi Mandiram gave shelter to many elderly people who are abandoned by their children and relatives. What we saw there was truly dis-heartening and heart breaking. Why these people are abandoned by their children is still a mystery for all of us. We visited this place and donated them wardrobes, medical equipment and food. Their love in return was truly mesmerizing. We love you mothers! 🙂

This time more than charity we were into one of most crucial aspects of life which is parenting. Dyslexia is a learning disorder found amongst children quite often. Its important that parents are aware of this so that children can be provided with good training that enables them to study just like any other children. Our aim was to help a school that runs exclusively for dyslexic children and aid them with computer systems, spend a day with them along with their parents. Great poet Prof.V Madhusoodanan Nair was there to bless all the children who attended the event. And it was another feather in our crown!
